Indications:
Indications:
-Periconceptional complement to prevent malformations at the neural tube in women that wish to become pregnant, one month before and up to 3 months after conception –Treatment of megaloblastic anemia caused by lack of folic acid.
Contraindications: Hypersensibility to the drug. Folic acid should not be administered as the only agent in the treatment of pernicious anemia, since it may mask the symptoms caused by lack of vitamin B12.

Prevention of neural tube defects: The recommended dose is of 1 mg per day to prevent the first occurrence and y 5 mg per day to prevent recurrence. In all cases treatment should start one month before conception and continue until the twelfth week of pregnancy.
Megaloblastic anemia: The usual dose is of 1 mg per day until achieving the hematological response or 5 mg per day for 4 months.
